The Customer

A State Police Department in India, one of the most technologically advanced forces in the country, wanted Vox Spectrum to design and cost effectively deploy the most advanced, user friendly and centralized voice recording technology for law enforcement

The Challenge

The customer has wireless communication on a wide spectrum of frequencies on multiple wireless networks and an equally large wired telephony network distributed across the state. These voice communications on varied platforms required to be recorded and monitored 24/7. The entire monitoring process had to be centralized on a single server for each territory, typically the district telecom headquarters.

The department planned to hook up this central voice monitoring facility to a nation wide communication backbone deployed for police force.

They requested Vox Spectrum to provide a solution capable of integrating seamlessly with existing network backbone & should be future proof. The recorder had to have dual redundant power supplies and storage redundancy among other features.

  The Solution

  Vox Spectrum engineers analyzed the customer's   requirements and designed a cost-effective yet user   friendly and centralized voice logging solution that   could be interfaced with both wired and wireless   platforms.

  Vox Spectrum's DGVOX series of Industrial server   loggers were deployed, equipped with recording   interfaces for both analog telephone & wireless lines,   This customized solution has complete data and power   redundancy with built in control panel for secure 24/7   operation. These voice loggers monitored the   complete spectrum of wireless channels along with   telephone lines, enabling the customer to have a   centralized unit for live monitoring & reporting   functions.

  The solution was deployed in 2006 at 20 locations   across the state and has been functioning ever since   to the customer's satisfaction
